Abstract

829,638. Golf bags. SLAZENGERS Ltd. May 10, 1956 [May 31, 1955], No. 15577/55. Class 132(2) Reinforcing rods 11 extend between screw-threaded upper and plain lower sockets 10, 2 of a golf bag and have a screw threaded connection with the upper sockets so that by operating the connection, the bag can be longitudinally tensioned. The upper sockets 10 are carried by a top reinforcing ring 9 and, as shown, are internally threaded. The upper ends of the rods are externally threaded and are enlarged so that the rods can be slid down through the sockets until the threads engage. The top of the rod has a slot 13 to take a screw driver. The rods are accommodated in pockets in the bag material. The rods may be made of glass fibre or synthetic resin.
