Class 142(4) [Also in Group VIII] A screen for a Fourdrinier paper-making machine consists of a tubular fabric woven from monofilament, multifilament, or staple fibre yarns of polyamide, polyester, or vinyl and vinylidene polymers or copolymers. The crossing points of the warp and weft are bonded together by dipping the fabric in thermosetting resin; alternatively, the fabric may be heated under tension or between calender rolls, for which purpose the warp of weft or both may be a blend of staple fibres or continuous filaments having one constituent of lower softening temperatures than the other.
