Abstract

An insulated electric conductor such as the winding of a dynamo-electric machine is coated with a mixture of an alkyd resin and an organopolysiloxane resin which may be applied in the form of an air-drying varnish by brushing, dipping or spraying. A suitable composition is a styrenated alkyd enamel containing from 0.05 to 1% of a cold-curing methylpolysiloxane resin. The mixture may be applied to a conductor which has already been insulated by conventional methods.
