Abstract

827,215. Drying apparatus. PUNTER, A. B. Nov. 28, 1957 [Nov. 29, 1956], No. 36473/56. Classes 34(1) . and 34(2) A bed of grain, seeds, pulse, &c., is dried by immersing therein a pointed perforated container 1, Fig. 1, housing perforate bags 5 of silica gel &c. The bags 5 - which may be of nylon, perforated metal or wire mesh and preferably transparent - are connected by a tape 6, and the container 1 has a plug 3 incorporating withdrawal lugs 4. The silica gel, or the bag material, may be self-indicating for moisture content. In another embodiment, perforated metal cannisters 8, Fig. 3, filled with silica gel, are connected through a hose 12, a connection 13, tubes 11 and a wire gauze tube 10 to a source of compressed air.
