Abstract

826,218. Making sieves; welding by pressure. TEMA N.V. Sept. 6, 1957, No. 28256/57. Addition to 663,182. Classes 83 (2) and 83 (4). [Also in Group II] In the method of manufacturing spot-welded sieve bottoms claimed in the parent Specification the sifting wires are bent or corrugated or stepped between the adjacent spacing wires or supporting bars in the plane of the bottom or at right-angles thereto. The sifting wires 1 may be shaped in the plane of the screen into zig-zags, Fig. 1, shallow corrugations, irregular steps 6, Fig. 3, or regular corrugations to provide substantially round meshes. The support wires 9, Fig. 6, may also be corrugated. The sifting wires 12 may be corrugated in the plane normal to the sieve bottom to the form shown in Fig. 8.
