Abstract

A mixture of hydrogen, hydrogen deuteride and deuterium is treated at a temperature below 5 DEG C. with a liquid at such a temperature that the HD and D2 transfer to the solvent and are removed by heating and/or reduction of pressure. Exemplified liquids are nitrogen, neon, argon, carbon oxides, methane, sulphur dioxide, nitric oxide, ammonia, brines, and liquid and low molecular weight hydrocarbons.
