826,114. Filters. SEIDLER, [nee MEYER] E. May 20, 1958 [May 27, 1957], No. 16188 /58. Class 46. In Fig. 1, a spiral paper element 7 is arranged between perforate cylinders 1, 4, end caps 2, 3, surround the cylinder 1, a felt element 8 surrounds parts 1, 2, 3, and a ring 9 consisting of flanges 10, surrounds at least one end of the felt element 8. In Fig. 2 (not shown), each end cap is flanged and encloses an end of the whole assembly, the ring or rings 9 thus being rendered unnecessary. In Fig. 4, the paper element is an axially-pleated one. The axial ends of the metal forming the inner cylinder 14 overlap and are coated with adhesive which is not hardened until after assembly. A metal cap 24, Fig. 5, to the inside of which a paper disc 27 has been previously secured by adhesive, is applied to an end of the assembly, the end having been immersed (for a distance of 3 or 4 mm.) in adhesive.
