Abstract

825,673. Fishing-rod fittings. ALLCOCK & CO. Ltd., S. June 23, 1958 [July 4, 1957], No. 21147/57. Class 48. In a fitting for securing a winch 6 to a rod 8 of the type comprising a sleeve 5 freely fitted over the cork handle of the rod the sleeve 5 has a longitudinal slot 11 permitting the scoop 7 of the winch to rest on the exterior of the rod, one end of the sleeve has a pocket 13 for receiving one end of the scoop 7 and the other end of the sleeve has a nut 9 screwed thereon and adapted to engage over the other end of the scoop 7 and press the scoop on to the rod and at the same time hold the sleeve on the rod. The underside of the scoop is curved to seat against the rod and its top side is tapered from the middle towards the ends. The bore of the nut 9 has a tapered lead-in 17 to engage one end of the scoop 7.
