Abstract

Diethylene glycol bis (allylcarbonate) with 2 to 5% by weight of isopropyl percarbonate which has previously been dried with a dehydrating agent, e.g. anhydrous sodium sulphate, is polymerized in the form of a lens (see Group V) by heating from room temperature to 150 DEG F. for 11 hours and then maintaining the temperature at 150 DEG C. for 5 hours. After polymerization the moulded lens may be heated in hot air which is raised from room temperature to 240 DEG F. during 1 to 11 hours and then maintained at 240 DEG F. for 2 to 5 hours. U.S.A.
