Abstract
824,742. Piecing yarns. SCHOELLER & CO., E. Sept. 11, 1957 [Sept. 26, 1956], No. 28712/57. Class 120(3) In a process for connecting dry or moistened ends of paper yarn having a diameter of 0.2 to 0.6 m.m., as may be used for insulating wires in telephone cables, the ends are juxtaposed, covered with adhesive containing a solution of polymethacrylic acid methyl ester (12-24% by weight) in an organic solvent e.g. methylene chloride, acetic acid methyl ester, the period of evaporation of which is not greater than four times the period of evaporation of diethyl ether under corresponding conditions, and pressed together optionally, with a twisting or "twining" motion.
