Abstract
<PICT:0823870/IV(c)/1> Apparatus 13 for sizing glass filaments comprises a graphite shoe 23 on which filaments 22 are gathered to form a strand 24 (see Group IX), a supply tank 25 and a driven belt 26 which is mounted on a drum 28 and engages a guide bar 29 and dips into the sizing liquid 31 to transfer it to the filaments. Size is supplied through a pipe 33 to a supply compartment, overflows a weir 32 and exhausts through a pipe 34.
