822,878. Shelling machines e.g. for groundnuts. COMPAGNIE FRANCAISE DE L'AFRIQUE OCCIDENTALE. April 22, 1958 [Feb. 10, 1958], No. 12688 /58. Class 58. A shelling machine for groundnuts, &c. has a frame 7, 7<SP>1</SP>, supporting both a shaft 9 on which may oscillate through arms 12 a beater 18 having a lower convex toothed face, and a hopper 1 having a perforated bottom 5 curved in accordance with the surface described by the lower face of the beater when it oscillates. Holed extension pieces 13 engaging slotted holes 22 in the arms 12 permit adjustment of the distance of the beater above the curved bottom, the openings 5<SP>1</SP> of which are elongated in the direction of oscillation. The side 4 of the hopper may have an extension 29, to prevent scattering of the nuts. A seat 25 and handle 17<SP>1</SP> are provided for the operative.
