Abstract

822,319. Automatic exchange systems. AUTOMATIC TELEPHONE & ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Feb. 10, 1958 [March 26, 1957], No. 9813/57. Drawings to Specification. Class 40 (4). In a system employing VF signalling over junctions, the incoming end of a junction terminates in a bi-directional group selector, and the arrangement is such that no separate seizing signal is required, all the impulses of the first impulse train received being repeated in- D.C. form to operate the vertical magnet. The selector described is of the 200-point type arranged for double-hunting, and may give access both to local switches and to outgoing junctions. In the former case subsequent impulse trains are repeated forward in D.C. form, while in the latter case the absence of a D.C. loop on the outgoing side effects circuit changes whereby subsequent impulse trains pass through in V.F. form.
