Abstract

820,729. Granulating polyvinyl chloride, &c. WACKER-CHEMIE G.m.b.H. Oct. 13, 1955 [Oct. 13, 1954], No. 29254/55. Class 87(2). Plastic material is granulated by feeding it to the space between two relatively rotatable members 1, 2 one or both of which have holes through which the material is extruded. The members are shaped to provide a space which decrease from the open feed end to the other end which is closed. The granules may be removed by a scraper or brush 5. A cooling jacket 6 may be provided. The material may be fed to the granulating apparatus from a gelatinising apparatus, each apparatus having a common drive. Specification 757,607 is referred to.
