Abstract

819,895. Stacking trays &c. TOMADO, N. V. March 18, 1958 [March 20, 1957], No. 8696/58. Class 52(3) A leg 4 for interconnecting superposed trays, troughs, baskets &c. consists of a hook 4a, and slidable keeper 22 for engaging the wire rim 7 of the lower tray and a hook 4b for engaging the wire rim 8 of the upper tray, the leg being provided with an adjustable member for supporting the upper tray in different inclined positions. As shown in Fig. 1 the member is a plate 11 having an elongated slot 10 receiving a pin 9 welded to the leg 4. A lower wire 13 of the tray bears on the plate 11 which has a notch 12 receiving the wire rim 8. By selectively engaging pin 9 in one of three notches 14 in the upper edge of slot 10, the inclination of the plate, and hence of the tray, can be varied. In a modification (Fig. 2, not shown). a bail is pivoted to the leg and has threenotches at different distances from its pivotal axis for engagement with a wire of the tray. In a further modification (Fig. 3 not shown) a member having horizontal slots of different length supports the tray and is pivoted to the leg. A cross pin slidable along the leg can be introduced into any slot to vary the angle of the member and of the tray.
