819,196. Typewriters &c. CREED & CO. Ltd. Nov. 1, 1957, No. 34175/57. Class 100(4) A platen 1 has a series of paper feed pins 2 at its ends which are urged into an inoperative position by individual springs 4. The shaft 5 of the platen is movable longitudinally in its bearings and mounts cams 3 which when positioned as shown force the pins 2 into an operative position over part of the periphery as the platen rotates. A lever 6 moves the shaft 5 to the left to allow all the pins to be retracted by the springs 4 and a split sleeve 7 controlled by a spring 8 holds the lever in either position.
