Class 97(1) As shown, a gate suitable for sub-standard size films consists of a fixed part 1 and a movable part 6 urged together by a spring 7 to allow the passage between them of a film driven by a transport member 9; the side of the fixed part 1 from which the film is introduced having a ridge 11 corresponding with a trough 12 in the movable part 6 such that when the film is introduced, its rigidity suffices to urge the parts 1 and 6 apart against the spring force to allow the film to be guided into its operative position at 8 past the transport member 9 and at a distance therefrom so that its surface does not become scratched.
