Abstract
817,831. Feeding cards. GAMBLE, H. Oct. 16, 1956 [July 21, 1955], No. 21073/55. Class 117 [Also in Groups XVI and XVII] Magazines 4 each have a reciprocating stepped plate 2, the step ejecting the lowermost card 1 and supporting it above the intermittently moving conveyer. As the plate withdraws, the card, prevented from retracting by pivoted stops 5, falls on to guide bars 10 fixed between each pair of magazines. The conveyer carries a series of platforms 7 on which the cards are stacked, the cards being located by members 9 and fixed guides 25. The members 9 project above the guides 10 and the rear ones of these sweep cards resting on them on to the platforms 7. The card batches are removed by an ejector 13 and deposited on edge on to a continuously moving conveyer (not shown) for transit to packaging machinery, where for example, the cards are added to cigarette packets.
