Abstract

816,942. Valves. SPANNER BOILERS Ltd. July 11, 1957 [April 11, 1956], No. 10988/56. Class 135. A two-way or diversion fluid control valve for use, e.g. in the exhaust gas line of a prime mover installation incorporating a waste heat recovery boiler, comprises a valve body a (Fig. 1) having an inlet branch b on one side and two delivery branches d, e on the opposite side, a partition g dividing the body into a valve compartment i and an inlet manifold h, respectively, two portways in the partition, upper and lower pairs of seatings k, l and m, n in parallel spaced relation in the valve compartment arranged respectively on the ends of the delivery branches and about the portways in the partition, a valve plate q having an aperture u adapted to slide between and co-operate with the upper and lower seatings to permit passage of gases through either or both of the delivery branches and operating means such as a screwed spindle o with a hand wheel t for moving the valve plate. The delivery branches may be eccentric to the portways in the partition or may be coaxial therewith. As shown, the valve body is provided with an extension p adapted to accommodate the valve plate in an extreme left-hand position.
