[Also in Groups XV and XVII] A device for securing a strip of adhesive tape about the twisted neck 61 of a bag (see Group XVII) comprises a rotatable wheel 25 having a notch 34 across which the tape 18 extends and into which the bag neck is pressed with the tape. The wheel is slotted to house a sliding member 39 carrying a knife edge 40, and as the wheel is rotated anti-clockwise as shown, the end 49 of the member 39 is engaged by a fixed cam 52 to project the edge 40 from the wheel periphery to cut the tape. When the bag is removed, a spring 27 returns the wheel to its starting position and a spring 50 withdraws the knife edge.
