814,725. Ear protectors. ROMER, H., [trading as ROMER, H., [Firm of]]. July 8, 1955 [July 19, 1954; Oct. 8, 1954; Nov. 19, 1954], No. 19784/55. Class 81 (2). A protective ear covering, primarily for use by motorcyclists, comprises a cover having means for the admission of sound and a frame by means of which it is supported in spaced relation to the ear. A body part 1 has a streamlined outer surface and is mounted on a frame 12 having a sponge rubber sealing member 16 which surrounds the ear 3. The shape of the device avoids eddies in the air flowing past it, which would cause noise, and an opening 4, towards the rear, allows sound to enter, after which it is directed towards the ear by plates 7, 10.
