Abstract

813,667. Radio apparatus. UNITED-CARR FASTENER CORPORATION. July 12, 1957 [July 13, 1956], No. 22213/57. Class 40 (5). A shield for an electric discharge tube is wound from a strip of metal or other material to form a conical helix having overlapping convolutions which can be axially compressed to allow tube replacement. As shown, the lower turn of the helix is provided with a tab 12 which may be clinched after passing through a slot in the chassis 17. Alternatively, the smaller end may be attached to the chassis.
