Class 103(5) A buffer is provided with a spigot 2 having bonded to it a rubber sleeve 1 which is itself bonded to the member 23 carrying the buffer head 6. The interior 4 of the sleeve 1 is filled with hydraulic medium which is displaced during buffing, through the valves 11 into the interior of the spigot 2.
