Abstract

A cellular metal body as described in Specification 729,339 is made by a method disclosed therein of mixing a gas-forming solid p with a molten metal and adding the resultant mixture to the molten metal to be foamed. The improvement of the present Specification is in the use of a eutectic alloy as the first-mentionel liquid metal. An extension process may be used whereby the decomposition of the gas-forming solid is delayed by pressure until the molten metal is expelled from the extrusion orifice.
