Abstract

Prior to germination, barley is moistened with an aqueous solution or suspension of gibberellic acid or an alkali metal, alkaline earth metal or ammonium salt or ester of the acid, or crude material isolated from a gibberellic-acid producing fermentation medium. A solution strength of 5 micrograms gibberellic acid per ml. is suitable. Specification 783,611, [Group IV (b)], is referred to in regard to gibberellic acid.
