Abstract
810,908. Threading warp stop motion detectors. FLEISCHER, S. S. C. May 9, 1957 [May 14, 1956], No. 14772/57. Class 142(1) Detectors 6 on a guide bar 8 are taken one at a time by a magnet 12 and placed on a retaining magnet 10 which holds it whilst the operator draws a warp thread through it; the operator then pulls the detector off the magnet, slides it further along the bar 8, and re-starts the device, which stops automatically after each cycle. There are six magnets 12 on a common arm 16, operatiing simultaneously on the detectors on six bars 8; the associated retaining magnets 10 being disposed in a row running perpendicularly or obliquely across the bars 8. The magnets 12 are moved by a rack 21 reciprocated by gearing 35, 37 oscillated by a rack 38 actuated by an eccentric 39; the arm 16 is pivoted to the rack 21 at 19 and rides on a roller 30, the arm being cranked at 31 to lift the magnet 12 clear of the magnets 10. The device runs on rails 5 and slowly hauls itself along a fixed cord 42 by means of a capstan 41, round which the cord passes, rotated by a pawl 47.
