Abstract

810,311. Automatic frequency control systems. MULLARD RADIO VALVE CO. Ltd. Jan. 24, 1956, No. 2298/56. Drawings to Specification. Class 38 (4). A tuned circuit such as the frequency-determing circuit of a sine wave oscillator is shunted by a back-biased P-N junction diode to which an A.F.C. voltage is applied so that the junction capacitance is varied and the tuning or frequency stabilized. The system may be applied to stabilizing the frequency of the oscillator of a self-oscillating additive mixer in a V.H.F./F.M. receiver, or the mean frequency of an F.M. transmitter. The small-capacity diodes may be made as described in Specification 803,583, [Group XXXVI]. Specification 501,238, [Group XXXVI], also is referred to.
