809,108. Artificial limbs. GREISSINGER, G. July 19, 1957, No. 22934/57. Addition to 678,937. Class 81 (2). In a modification of the ankle joint of the parent Specification, the pivot comprises a pin co-operating with a slightly resilient synthetic resin block, to give flexibility to the joint. The resilient block r is held to the shin member by bolts s, s and has a recess in its upper surface to receive a pivot pin c, which is held between the limbs of a forked member t attached to the foot a. A cushioning member d surrounds the pivot and is engaged by coacting surfaces g, h on the shin when the foot is in use. Free movement of the pin c may be increased by cutting a small recess x, above it, in the shin member.
