Abstract

803,428. Switch handles. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. April 26, 1956 [May 3, 1955], No. 12800/55. Class 38 (5). Electric switch-gear 13 has a withdrawable handle 17 comprising a knob 17a and a shaft 17b, a panel 10 of a housing for the switch-gear having storage means for the handle arranged so that when the handle is inserted therein only a portion of the knob projects in front of the panel. The latter may be the door of the housing and is formed with a recess 21a partly accommodating the knob 17a, the shaft 17b being received in a tube 22 carried by a fixed part 11 of the housing. The handle may be removed from the storage means and passed through a flap 19 into engagement with one of a number of holes in a quadrant 18 in the switchgear mechanism.
