Abstract

803,312. Heating elements for electric fires. MORPHY-RICHARDS, Ltd. May 13, 1955 [May 19, 1954], No. 14692/54. Class 39(3) [Also in Group XXXVI] An electric fire heating element comprising a heater wire 4 wound in a helical groove in a tubular refractory rod 1 is provided at each end with a screw 5 secured in a metal cap 2 by deforming the cap. Flats 6 are pressed on to the projecting part of the screw which may be slipped into a 'forked bracket 7 and secured by a nut 9. Rotation of the caps 2 relative to the brackets is thus prevented and danger of fracture of the rod 1 by torsional forces when tightening the nuts 9 is thus eliminated.
