An egg carton of fibrous material of the kind described in Specification 771,552, has the bridges 36 of the top half 12 shaped to sinuous form in vertical cross section so that they contact the bridges 24 of the bottom half 10 at spaced areas only. As shown, the material is formed with upright undulations 42, Fig. 2. Similar undulations may be formed in the bottom half. The construction prevents unintentional breakage of the filled carton.
