800,115. Radiation shielding. ROTHBAND & CO., Ltd., W. S. Jan. 28, 1957 [Feb. 27, 1956], No. 5988/56. -Class 98(1) A hand or arm shield for protection again radiation such as X-rays consists of an elongated sheet of resilient material such as rubber, loaded with lead, with means near one end for securing it around the wrist and forearm, the other end extending over the back of the hand and fingers while leaving the palm of the hand uncovered. As shown, the sheet 1 of rubber loaded with lead has a fabric lining 2 and is long enough to shield the hand and forearm. Straps 3, 4 hold it to the wrist and forearm, and an elastic band 5 passes round the shield and fingers, leaving the forearm free.
