Class 52(2) A bed-settee has removable back-rests 9 which are adapted to be supported from the sides of the settee to convert the settee into a divan bed. As shown, the back rests are supported by posts 10 which fit into vertical slots in the back frame 5 of the settee or which pass through apertures 18 in the side frame to engage either of a pair of slots cut into wooden blocks 20. In the bed position upholstery may thus be supported level with the settee surface or at a slight angle to it (as shown) to form a head or foot rest.
