Abstract

Endocytines are extracted from organic liquids, tissues or organs except hormone-secreting glands, by electrophoresis or electroosmosis, preferably without interruption at a potential difference of 200 to 250 volts between platinum electrodes, in distilled or deionized water. The organic liquid, e.g. amniotic fluid or blood may be contained in a calf's bladder insulated from the platinum needle or electrode, for example, by a glass tube. The solid tissue, e.g. living foetus, foetus tissue such as brain, liver, heart, lungs, kidneys, intestines, stomach, thumys, thyroid gangliones of higher mammals such as sheep, goat, guinea pig, rabbit, oxen, is removed immediately after the death of the animal and may be utilized immediately or may be kept at 2 DEG C. for up to eight days prior to use. The extracts may be preserved against microbiological decomposition by addition of one volume of 96 per cent ethyl alcohol to four volumes of the aqueous extract.
