Abstract

<PICT:0798719/III/1> <PICT:0798719/III/2> <PICT:0798719/III/3> A catalytic reaction tube 10 (Fig. 2) suspended from the top of a furnace is held at the bottom of the furnace by means of supporting elements comprising grid bars 11 which are connected to one another honeycomb fashion (Fig. 1) with openings 12 for the tubes. Resting on the grid bars 11 of the supporting elements are insulated bricks 13 of similar cross-section between which gaps 14 are left to prevent direct contact between the bricks. Each brick is provided with opening 15 for the passage of one of the reaction tubes and may be connected to another brick by means of sealing brick 17 inserted laterally in pocket-like recesses 16. The supporting elements rest on an angle member 19 which may be rigidly connected to the furnace body (see Fig. 3).
