Abstract

798,376. Guards for cookers. GRANT, F., and WILLETTS, F. Dec. 19, 1955 [Dec. 21, 1954], No. 36875/54. Class 126 A band 7 secured round the frame of the top plate of a cooker by a strap at the back of the cooker and wing nuts 9 supports wire fences 5, 6 carrying hinge pins 17 engaging sleeves 16 on the band 7. Spring clips 18 secured to the front uprights of the side fences 6 engage the end uprights of the front fence 5. The side fences 6 allow pan handles 4 to project through them and the hooked end 12 of a wire tie 11 with a coiled sleeve 14 at the other end, for engaging the handle 4 slides along the top rail of the fence 6. Corner caps 16 on the band 7 help to secure it to the cooker and the front fence 5 may be dropped by disengaging the clips 18. The side fences are held upright by the ties 11, or by additional clips 18 secured to the splash plate 1a. The side fences may be supported by plugs engaging upright sockets attached to the band.
