Abstract
<PICT:0796010/III/1> <PICT:0796010/III/2> The intake end 7 of a gas sampling probe 8, which is placed in a gas stream, with direction of flow F, has a stream line form and a gas intake 11 on the downstream or trailing side of the probe so that solid material is not drawn into the probe and consequently into the analysis apparatus. As in Fig. 4 the intake may comprise a tube of streamline form with an opening 14 on the downstream or trailing side in relation to the direction of gas flow.
