Abstract

795,505. Accounting-machines. NATIONAL CASH REGISTER CO. Oct. 29, 1956 [Nov. 15, 1955], No. 32906/56. Addition to 771,588. Class 106 (1). [Also in Group XXXVII] An accounting machine has compartments, for receiving cheques or other documents, each associated with a control key, an operating device for each control key, and a member extending across the mouth of each compartment and depressible at any point along its length for' actuation as the cheque is inserted to cause operation of the operating device of the corresponding control key. The whole assembly is similar to that described in the parent Specification but the construction of the switches (see Group XXXVII) which form the manuallyactuated members is different. Moreover, the solenoids 16 which operate the control keys are energized by means of the switches 45 over a circuit having a power supply including a transformer 74, a rectifier bridge 75, across which is connected a condenser 81, and a limiting resistor 79. A main switch 70, when switched off, discharges the condenser 81. A pilot light 71 is provided.
