794,887. Watches. MANUFACTURE DES MONTRES UNIVERSAL PERRET FRORES. May 28, 1956 [May 27, 1955; March 26, 1956], No. 6394/56. Class 139 In a self-winding watch the rotor is mounted to rotate freely about an eccentric axis. The rotor 1, Figs. 1 and 2, is mounted on a pin 2 extending from a support fixed to a plate 3. Fixed to the rotor is a pinion 5 which meshes with the pinion 6 of two intermeshing pinions 6, 6<SP>1</SP> carried by a rocker 7. The arrangement is such that one or other of the pinion 6, 6<SP>1</SP> engages a gear 8 in accordance with the direction of rotation of the rotor and rotates it in a counter-clockwise direction The gear 8 is connected through the train 9, 27, 28 to the barrel ratchet 10. The upper surface of the rotor 1 is substantially flush with the upper surfaces of the bridges of the movement. In a modification of the going train to provide for an eccentric seconds hand of the arbor of the fourth wheel 18, Fig. 4, the centre wheel and pinion unit is mounted eccentrically and is driven from the barrel 10 via the gear 11, the centre pinion 12 and the gear 14, the gears 11 and 14 being mounted on the same arbor. In another modification, Fig. 6, the third wheel 17 is displaced so as to drive a pinion 23 on a central arbor 21 carrying a seconds hand which is steadied by a spring 22.
