Abstract
794,864. Building elements. HEALEY, J. March 19, 1956, No. 8474/56. Classes 20(3) and 87(1) A building element comprises a pair of light-transmitting blocks 1 fitted in the ends of a spacing tube 2 of circular, rectangular or other cross-section, the joints between the blocks and spacing tube being sealed with bituminous tape 4. The spacing tube 2 may be made of asbestos, asbestos cement, non-ferrous metal, plastic, glass, nylon or ceramic material, and an inner spacing tube 12 may also be provided. The blocks 1 may be plane or in the form of plano-concave or convex lenses, and each is formed with a groove 6 between ribs 5. The unit may be embedded directly into a concrete wall or it may be embedded in a concrete block of rectangular, circular or other cross-section. In a modification, Fig. 7, the end portions only are enclosed in concrete blocks 9.
