Classes 20(2) and 20(4) A wall for wooden houses comprises a plurality of planks 1, Fig. 1, superimposed edgewise, with each plank provided on an end surface with a dovetailed key 3, Fig. 2. engaging a correspondingly shaped notch 7 in the side of the planks 2 of an adjacent wall, which is also formed from a plurality of superimposed planks 2, the joints of the planks in one wall being vertically displaced relative to those of the adjacent wall. Each plank 1, 2. has a tongue 4 along one edge, and a groove 5 along the opposite edge; the tongue 4 being slit at 6. In assembling the walls a narrow plank 2a is employed in one wall to enable the joints to be staggered.
