557,170. Returnable wooden boxes. FIDDES, J. May 4, 1942, No. 5991. [Class 18] An end for a returnable box &c. having a top and bottom especially such as formed of two layers of thin narrow boards with the boards in one layer at an angle to those in the other, comprises an end frame 1, 2, 3, 4 with recesses 6, 7 between the frame and the end extending to the top and bottom of the end within which slides a wood &c. member 8 so as to be secured to the top and bottom, such member bearing the name and address of the consignee on one side, e.g. on a label 10; and on the other the name and address of the person to whom the box &c. is to be returned. The recesses may be wholly in the end or wholly in the faces of the frame. The sliding member may be constituted by a board removed from the end. Finger notches or openings may be provided in the sliding member.
