Class 142(2) In a loom weaving two body colours pick-and-pick for a period, followed by double picks of the same two wefts for another period (with occasional double picks of decorative wefts), the changebox and picking motions are controlled by the pattern chain to provide an opportunity of replenishing each body weft once in every period. Bobbin changing occurs when a depleted shuttle is in the upper cell of a two-cell box, and the box is in its upper position with the lower cell empty to permit the ejected bobbin to fall through it, which condition is maintained for the necessary time by operating the picking stick in the empty lower cell, whereby no shuttle is picked on one revolution when weaving IXI or on two consecutive revolutions when weaving 2X2. A side-slipping weft feeler operating in the upper cell at the magazine end has its electrical circuit controlled by the pattern chain so as to function only when replenishment is possible; the bobbins have reserve bunch long enough to last through the non-automatic part of a period. The weft fork is prevented from stopping the loom during the revolutions when no shuttle is picked by a shield moved by the pattern chain so as to hold the weft fork dagger clear of the knockoff lever; the same connection from the pattern chain lifts the take-up pawl from its ratchet wheel.
