Abstract

789,270. Repeaters. SOC. ANON. DE TELECOMMUNICATIONS. Feb. 23, 1956 [June 17, 1955], No. 5646/56. Class 40 (4). In a two-way, two-wire repeater, ringing current is produced at one pair of like terminals in response to ringing current at the other pair as a result of the passage of a signal through at. least a part of the amplifier which passes speech in the reverse direction, i.e. from said other to said one pair of terminals. W-E ringing currents applied to line terminals 1, 2 are rectified at 10 and applied as bear to E-W amplifier 14 to change-over a ringing repeating relay 15 in its anode circuit. Ringing current is as a result applied to terminals 21, 22 from a source connected to contact 152, the rectifier 16 for E-W ringing is disconnected, and a relay 17 is energized to short-circuit the inputs to both amplifiers 8, 14. Filters 8, 18 keep the ringing currents from the amplifier inputs.
