Abstract

787,651. Cycle pedals. PHILLIPS & CO., Ltd., J. A. Oct. 25, 1955 [Jan. 8, 1955], No. 645/55. Class 136(2) In a cycle pedal comprising the usual centre tube and bearing cups, the side members 10, 11 which form the foot bearers are of unequal length and each side member having a slightly concave upper edge finishing at its outermost end with an upward and inwardly directed projection 13 or 14. When the pedal is on the cycle the forward facing side plate 10 is the shorter. The uppermost edge of each side plate is toothed or serrated. An additional projection 15 is formed on the forward facing side plate 10. Both side plates are preferably pierced at 16 so that a reflector may be fitted and longitudinal slots 17 are formed in the side plates to reduce their weight.
