787,442. Rolling tubes. INNOCENTI SOC. GENERALE PER L'INDUSTRIA METALLURGICA E MECCANICA. Nov. 10, 1955, [Nov. 11, 1954], No. 32232/55. Class 83(4). In a method of rolling seamless tubes, a blank 6, Fig. 1, mounted on a mandrel 7 is fed slowly between two groups of planetary rollers 1, Fig. 2, spaced along the length of the blank so that the tube is successively contacted by rollers of each group. The rollers 1 are mounted in supports 2 and any convenient means may be provided for rotating the supports 2 about their axes 2 and for rotating the rollers 1. The rollers 1 in each group are angularly spaced to engage the tube 6 at points exactly intermediate the points engaged by the rollers 1 in the other group.
