787,077. Supplying and collecting bobbins in textile spinning &c. machines. WADSWORTH & SONS, Ltd., E. Feb. 8, 1956 [Feb. 9, 1954], No. 3791/55. Class 120(3) A pair of back-to-back twisting frames mounts, on each side, a carriage adapted to travel the length of the frames under the guidance of upper and lower rails thereon, to carry skips of bobbins. Each carriage D comprises a frame formed with end members d and a back member d<SP>1</SP> connected to a base d<SP>2</SP> by a portion d‹ and a pivoted extension d<SP>4</SP> which, in one position, is held against stops to support a skip E of empty bobbins (which are to be placed on skewers E<SP>1</SP> ready for substitution when full bobbins are removed) as shown in full lines or a skip of full bobbins as shown in chaindotted lines, and, in another position, lies parallel with the front edge of the member d. The frame carries, at each end, horizontal runners d<SP>5</SP> and d<SP>7</SP> and a vertical runner d<SP>9</SP> engaging rails A and A<SP>1</SP> carried on brackets as at B: a bar(s) secured to the member d<SP>1</SP> may extend over the rail A<SP>2</SP> to prevent removal of the carriage therefrom, Fig. 3 (not shown).
