Abstract

786,361. Making meat, fruit &c. rolls. Mc LAUGHLIN, J. C. Feb. 23, 1956 [Aug. 29, 1955], No. 24774/55. Class 87(2). A device for making a hollow shell of pastry which is then filled with meat, fruit, jam, &c. comprises a base 3 ; a mould half 1 integral with the base ; another mould half 2 hinged to the first half at 4 ; arms 5 and 6 integral with the halves, one arm carrying a fastening loop 7 which holds the arms and mould halves together ; a hopper 9 which fits over the upper end of the mould and is secured thereto by a bayonet joint 12, 13 ; and a plunger 20 which is pushed down into the mould to form a hollow in pastry contained in the mould. When the plunger is pushed down, excess pastry escapes through slots 17 in the mould. Mould liners 8 may be used to provide ribbed rolls. When the plunger has been withdrawn meat &c. is filled into the hollow pastry shell through the hopper opening 11, and bosses B on the plunger are used to close the upper end of the roll.
