Abstract

785,636. Television. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. Jan. 6, 1956 [Jan. 8, 1955], No. 550/56. Class 40 (3). [Also in Group XL (c)] Controls 5, 6, 7 for a radio or television receiver are carried by a unit 4, which is normally housed within an opening in the front wall of the receiver cabinet, but may be withdrawn to permit remote control, the controls being connected permanently in the receiver circuits by means of a cable 12 wound off a spring-loaded drum 14 having a ratchet-and-pawl mechanism 13, 15 releasable by a push-button 11 when it is desired to return the unit. The controls are preferably variable resistors adjusting the receiver by means of direct currents.
