Abstract

784,523. Rubber mats for floors. ISLES, H. T., and GIUSTI, G. Jan. 30, 1956 [Nov. 2, 1954], No. 31683/54. Drawings to Specication. Class 142(4) Mats are made by interweaving rubber strips cut from discarded motor tyres. A tyre is cut circumferentially to separate the tread portion from the side portions and each of the side portions is then cut to form a continuous strip which is subsequently cut into short lengths and interwoven. An edging formed of upper and lower strips secured by adhesive and/or stitching is provided. The mats may be of various shapes.
